Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only La Salle walked away with it. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Oxford Academy Patriots on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Lancers sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Havana Pagan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jadelyn Sherman, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Aria Davis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

La Salle pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Oxford Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-10.

Coming up, La Salle will square off against Polytechnic at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight. Oxford Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
