Hays won the last time they faced Garden City and things went their way on Saturday too. The Indians won by a set and slipped past the Buffaloes 2-1.

Hays had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-16, 25-22.

Hays' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sylvia Johnson, who had five digs and three aces. That's the most aces Johnson has posted over her last 16 matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Humphrey, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Hays is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-10 record this season. As for Garden City, their loss ended a 12-match streak of away wins and brought them to 25-9.

Hays didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Liberal on the 18th. Garden City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
