Softball Recap: West Field's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

West Field fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Bear River on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 9-6 to the Bears. The loss put an end to the Longhorns' undefeated start to the season.

Ayzlee Sessions was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5. Sessions is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's got at least three every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Andreasen, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, West Field fell to 2-1. As for Bear River, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, West Field will host Syracuse at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bear River, they will venture away from home to challenge Ridgeline at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bear River 2.6, Ridgeline 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
