There's no place like home for Washington, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past the Bloomington Purple Raiders 11-1 on Saturday. Considering the Panthers have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Washington got a great performance from Thomas Diederich as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Diederich a new career-high.
At the plate, Carter Prina was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Roedell, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Washington pushed their record up to 19-8 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Bloomington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-9.
