Preview: Dominion Christian Knights vs. Holy Spirit Prep Cougars
After two games on the road, Dominion Christian is heading back home. They will take on the Holy Spirit Prep Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Dominion Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
On Saturday, Dominion Christian beat Fideles Christian 42-34.
Emory Maiyer was her usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zoe Jackson, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Holy Spirit Prep's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. Their tough 54-30 defeat to Atlanta Girls' School might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Holy Spirit Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 490th, while Atlanta Girls' School is ranked 240th).
Dominion Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Holy Spirit Prep, they bumped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything went Dominion Christian's way against Holy Spirit Prep when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as Dominion Christian made off with a 56-34 victory. Will Dominion Christian repeat their success, or does Holy Spirit Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
