Football Game Preview: Southern Regional Rams vs. Toms River North Mariners

Southern Regional hasn't had much luck against Toms River North recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rams will square off against the Mariners at 6:00 p.m. Southern Regional is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Friday, Southern Regional was fully in charge, breezing past Brick Township 35-7. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won three matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 21-21 at halftime, Toms River North was not quite Brick Memorial's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The Mariners were up 21-7 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Southern Regional's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Toms River North, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Southern Regional was taken down by Toms River North 35-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
