Volleyball Recap: Maranatha Christian Academy Takes a Loss

The Maranatha Christian Academy Eagles didn't have quite enough to beat the Holton Wildcats on Saturday and fell 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Maranatha Christian Academy sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 23-25, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Maranatha Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Macy Karlin, who had 31 digs and three assists. Karlin is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Among those leading the charge was Bailey Kathrens, who had 14 digs and two assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September.

Maranatha Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 37-6. As for Holton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-9 record this season.

Maranatha Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Holton has already played their next match (against Hoisington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
