Softball Preview: St. Clair County Fighting Saints vs. Lincoln Golden Bears
St. Clair County is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lincoln Golden Bears at 5:00 p.m.
St. Clair County saw some tournament action on Saturday. Everything went their way against Collinsville as St. Clair County made off with an 11-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Saints, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Tessa Parvin looked comfortable as she tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Carman Garner and Demeria Dean did most of the damage at the plate: Garner went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Dean scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That triple marked the first that Garner hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Banks, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Lincoln and Ashville finished up their match with a 1-1 tie on Saturday. The game marked the Golden Bears' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
