Baseball Recap: Greenup County Has No Trouble Against West Carter

Greenup County not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 11, 2024. They put the hurt on the West Carter Comets with a sharp 7-1 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Musketeers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ty Logan made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Sawyer Hatfield was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Greenup County and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for West Carter, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Greenup County is taking a road trip to take on Huntington at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Carter, they will host Paintsville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
