Basketball Recap: Walnut Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Walnut can now relate to. They lost 78-55 to the East Union Urchins on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Urchins: they've now lost four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Walnut lost, don't look at Logan Wilbanks. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-19 on his way to 23 points. The game was Wilbanks' sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Weston Bayless, who shot 50% from the field en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

Walnut's loss dropped their record down to 6-21. As for East Union, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Walnut nor East Union have any future games scheduled.
