Soccer Game Preview: Monroe vs. Whitewater

Monroe hasn't had much luck against Whitewater recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cheesemakers will host the Whippets at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Monroe lost 7-1 to Delavan-Darien on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Monroe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Delavan-Darien are ranked 42nd).

Monroe's goal came courtesy of Josue Torres, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Whitewater managed to keep up with Stoughton until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Whippets came up short against the Vikings, falling 3-0. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, Whitewater's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Monroe's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5-1. As for Whitewater, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4-2.
