Baseball Recap: Cherryvale Takes a Loss

Cherryvale came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to the Humboldt Cubs. The defeat continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Cubs: they've now lost four in a row.

Cherryvale saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Whittley, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Whittley has hit this season.

Cherryvale's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Humboldt, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

While Cherryvale had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
