Basketball Recap: Salisbury Comes Up Short

If Salisbury was riding high fresh off their 63-28 takedown of North Davidson last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Salisbury Hornets were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 58-57 to the North Rowan Cavaliers. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cavaliers earlier this season, when they won 49-37.

North Rowan had a senior duo take command as Dasia Elder posted 20 points and Krisstyle Stockton almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Elder has scored at least a third of North Rowan's points. Another player making a difference was Za'kiya Oglesby-Peck, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

Salisbury's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for North Rowan, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-17.

As of now, neither Salisbury nor North Rowan have any future games scheduled.
