Basketball Recap: New Lexington Comes Up Short

New Lexington lost against Ironton back in February of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The New Lexington Panthers took a hard 67-48 fall against the Ironton Fighting Tigers. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, New Lexington still got an impressive performance from Chloe Dick, who posted 28 points. The dominant performance gave Dick a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenzy McCoy, who put up 13 points.

New Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Ironton, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season.

New Lexington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-40 victory against Morgan on the 15th. As for Ironton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-33 win against Rock Hill on the 15th.
