Basketball Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Drops Season-High Score on Hillcrest Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Legacy Christian Academy). They claimed a resounding 82-35 victory over the Hillcrest Christian Saints. The win was familiar territory for the Lions who have now won three games in a row.

Legacy Christian Academy found their leader in freshman Josh Lowery, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 22 points in addition to eight assists and eight boards. That's the most boards Lowery has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of JR Mosley, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points and five assists.

Legacy Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Legacy Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points per game. As for Hillcrest Christian, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legacy Christian Academy will take on Valencia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Legacy Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hillcrest Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Glendale Adventist at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
