Basketball Recap: Waldorf Takes a Loss

Waldorf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Morgan Park Academy Warriors 70-39. The Thunder lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in December of 2016, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 50-44 score last time.

Morgan Park Academy found their leader in sophomore Tyee Mason, who went 11 of 15 on his way to 27 points along with eight boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mason has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ivan Fullilove, who posted 18 points and eight steals.

Waldorf's record now sits at 3-8. As for Morgan Park Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waldorf will head out to challenge Beacon Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Morgan Park Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Morgan Park Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season.
