Basketball Recap: Miles Cooper's Big Game Can't Quite Lead College Park over Campolindo

College Park has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 74-64 to the Campolindo Cougars on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), the Falcons still had to take the loss.

College Park lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Miles Cooper, who posted 26 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Steven Barnett, who scored 16 points and six rebounds.

Ren Marchetti continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Campolindo, going 6 for 12 on his way to 19 points along with six boards and three steals. Marchetti is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games he's played. Phin Kofman was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five assists and five steals.

College Park's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Campolindo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-7.

Looking ahead, College Park will be playing at home against Acalanes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. College Park knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Acalanes likes a good challenge. As for Campolindo, they have already played their next matchup, a 45-40 win against Berkeley on the 8th.
