Basketball Recap: Avon Comes Up Short

Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Hull Pirates, falling 78-5. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 68-2.

Despite the loss, Avon still got an impressive performance from Uwa Idada, who posted ten boards and four blocks. Idada is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season.

Avon's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Hull, their victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon will take on Upper Cape Cod RVT in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hull, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Rockland at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th.
