Baseball Game Preview: Muleshoe Mules vs. Shallowater Mustangs

Muleshoe hasn't had much luck against Shallowater recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mules will head out to challenge the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Muleshoe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Muleshoe is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Dimmitt.

Ryan Dominguez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Shallowater's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Idalou by a score of 4-3.

Shallowater's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 20-6. As for Muleshoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Muleshoe came up short against Shallowater when the teams last played back in March, falling 10-6. Can the Mules avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
