Basketball Recap: GEO Next Generation Takes a Loss

GEO Next Generation has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Iberville on Thursday. The contest marked GEO Next Generation's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

East Iberville found their leader in sophomore Isaiah Johnson, who shot 89% from the field en route to 17 points and five rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Johnson. Another player making a difference was Collin Banks, who posted six points in addition to six assists and six boards.

GEO Next Generation's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for East Iberville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Coming up, GEO Next Generation will be home for the holidays to greet Albany at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Iberville, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Central Private at 5:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
