Baseball Recap: Regis Triumphs

Regis barely beat Culver the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rams never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Not much got past Korben Schumacher, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Culver off the board. Schumacher has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Luke Castillo, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Emch, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Regis' win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Culver, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2-1.

Looking ahead, Regis will head out on the road to square off against Mohawk at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Culver, they will take on Crosshill Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
