Basketball Game Preview: University Titans vs. Mead Panthers

University hasn't had much luck against Mead recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The University Titans are taking a road trip to take on the Mead Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Both are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

University took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They breezed by Shadle Park to the tune of 63-23. The game marked the Titans' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, Mead came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Blackhawks 74-22. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Mead has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for University, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

University came up short against Mead in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 59-52. Can University avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
