Football Recap: Highland Park Comes Up Short

Highland Park lost against West Texas back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hornets took a blow against the Comanches, falling 58-6. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-6.

Josh Marler threw for 121 yards and one touchdown. Thomas Phan was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Dominic Vega rushed for 30 yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Highland Park and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for West Texas, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Highland Park has already played their next matchup, a 38-20 victory against Sunray on the 17th. As for West Texas, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-49 win against Panhandle on the 17th.
