Softball Recap: Mount Miguel Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mount Miguel walked away with it. They came out on top against the High Tech SD Storm by a score of 6-3 on Friday. For the Matadors, this counts as revenge for the 10-0 victory the Storm walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2017.

Gabriella Sanchez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Sanchez was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Leah Thomas was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Bosley, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Mount Miguel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as High Tech SD only posted a batting average of .074.

Mount Miguel's record now sits at 9-18. As for High Tech SD, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Coming up, Mount Miguel will square off against Monte Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. High Tech SD does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
