Basketball Recap: Brawley Wildcats vs. Imperial Tigers
The Brawley Wildcats lost against the Imperial Tigers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Brawley took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. Brawley has not had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Brawley still got an impressive performance from Adam Duran, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Duran has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Flores, who scored seven points.
Imperial's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Scariano, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marc Vitela, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Brawley's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Imperial, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brawley will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Imperial, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Scots at 7:00 p.m. Vincent Memorial is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
