Basketball Recap: Pike Central Comes Up Short

Pike Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They took a blow against the Tecumseh Braves, falling 49-16. If the Chargers were looking for revenge after losing 57-30 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tecumseh found their leader in sophomore Hazel Melton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Those 14 points gave Melton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Marx, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Pike Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Tecumseh, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-9 record.

Both are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Pike Central has already played their next game (against Perry Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tecumseh will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Southridge at 8:00 p.m.
