Baseball Recap: Memphis Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Memphis came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Vassar Vulcans by a score of 7-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-1 on Wednesday.

Nick Brickel was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tanner Gutt, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Memphis' win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Vassar, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Memphis will challenge Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Vassar, they will host Unionville-Sebewaing at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
