In what's become a running theme this season, Lamar gave their fans yet another huge victory in Friday's first game. They blew past the St. Mary's Pirates 11-1. The win was just what Lamar needed coming off of an 11-3 loss in their prior contest.

Austin Thacker was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Thacker has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Thacker was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and a triple.
