Preview: Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils vs. Shippensburg Greyhounds
Greencastle-Antrim is 1-8 against Shippensburg since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Greencastle-Antrim Blue Devils will look to defend their home field against the Shippensburg Greyhounds at 6:25 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Greencastle-Antrim is ranked 221st, while Shippensburg is ranked 219th).
Last Friday, Greencastle-Antrim came up short against Mechanicsburg and fell 34-22.
The losing side was boosted by Xavier Douge, who rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Shippensburg never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 27-0 win over Waynesboro. The win was just what Shippensburg needed coming off of a 34-14 loss in their prior game.
Patrick Eichelberger and Janye statum were among the main playmakers for Shippensburg as the former rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns and the latter rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown.
Mechanicsburg's win bumped their season record to 4-5 while Greencastle-Antrim's defeat dropped theirs to 6-3.
Greencastle-Antrim strolled past Shippensburg when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 42-26. Does Greencastle-Antrim have another victory up their sleeve, or will Shippensburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
