Cayuga took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They slipped by LaPoynor 51-50. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 975th, while the Flyers are ranked 477th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 97-36, which was the final score in Alba-Golden's tilt against Frankston on Friday.

Alba-Golden has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Cayuga, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season.
