Marquette barely beat Iowa Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Defenders blew past the Tigers 9-1 on Saturday. The Defenders not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since June 4th (when they won 13-3).
The win snapped Marquette's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-8 record. As for Iowa Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Coincidentally, Marquette and Iowa Valley will both be playing Columbus the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Wildcats at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Defenders will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
