It was a good run, but California unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Monte Vista Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Grizzlies have suffered since September 25th.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-16, 25-18.

Ava Villela paced California's offense, picking up 11 kills. Villela got some help from Brooklyn Bane and her 11 assists. Bane also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Brooklyn Zhang, each putting up two.

California now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Monte Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season.
