Softball Recap: Janesville Craig Gets the Win

Janesville Craig came out on top against Madison West on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Cougars walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Regents. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-1 back in April.

Maddy Klemencic spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits.

At the plate, Janesville Craig saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Kleinheinz, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Jace Wuensch also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Janesville Craig's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Madison West, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Janesville Craig will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Regents: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
