Baseball Recap: Langtree Charter Academy Comes Up Short

Langtree Charter Academy had lost six straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 11-10 to make it seven. They fell just short of the Corvian Community Cardinals by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lions have suffered since March 28, 2024.

Easton Roschke made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Aiden Gelpke was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

As for Corvian Community, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-12. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch.

On Corvian Community's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin McElhinny, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was Sam Stewart, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Coming up, Langtree Charter Academy will take on Christ the King at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Corvian Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
