Baseball Recap: Freeburg Takes a Loss

The Freeburg Midgets didn't have quite enough to beat the St. Louis University Junior Bills on Tuesday and fell 5-3. The Midgets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joey Pruett was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ethan Foster was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

Freeburg's defeat dropped their record down to 13-13. As for St. Louis University, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeburg will host Granite City at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Midgets are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for St. Louis University, they will square off against Rockwood Summit at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
