Softball Game Preview: Westinghouse Warriors vs. Intrinsic Mustangs

The Westinghouse Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Intrinsic Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Intrinsic will be up against a hot Westinghouse squad: the team just extended their winning streak to eight. The Warriors blew past North Grand 22-8 on Friday.

Emily Coleman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. She has been hot, having posted four or more RBI the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jazlyne Stewart, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Westinghouse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .591. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, while Intrinsic put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Phoenix Military. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Firebirds.

Westinghouse's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Intrinsic, their record now sits at 11-0-1.
