Medina is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Independence is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bees will welcome the Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Thursday, Medina made easy work of West Holmes and carried off a 14-4 victory.
Brooke Housum spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Medina got a massive performance out of Bailey McCoy, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave McCoy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryann Allar, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Medina kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Independence got the win against Harding on Wednesday by a conclusive 19-3.
Lila Manfredonia made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Manfredonia was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Brooke Vollman and Bella Iacianci did most of the damage at the plate: Vollman went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Iacianci went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Melina Rodriguez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Medina's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Independence, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Medina has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Independence struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
