Eagle Point has gone a perfect 10-0 against North Eugene recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Highlanders at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Eagle Point sitting on three straight victories and North Eugene on five.
On Saturday, Eagle Point got the win against Churchill by a conclusive 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Eagle Point got a massive performance out of Kady Lindstrom, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was Lindstrom's first of the season. Sarah Estes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Eagle Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, North Eugene earned a 6-1 win over Springfield on Friday.
Anabel Acosta was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Alexa Stiles was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
North Eugene pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Eagle Point, their record is now 13-9.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eagle Point has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. However, it's not like North Eugene struggles in that department as they've averaged .471. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
