Flag Football Game Preview: Lompoc Braves vs. Paso Robles Bearcats

The Lompoc Braves will challenge the Paso Robles Bearcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Lompoc 11, Paso Robles 9.3) so any points scored will be well earned.

Lompoc is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering San Luis Obispo just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, the Braves couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Paso Robles brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 38-7 victory over Pioneer Valley. With the Bearcats ahead 32-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Paso Robles' win came from a few key players Lompoc will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Harlem Rickson, who threw for 30 yards and three touchdowns, and also caught one score. Julia Cox also helped with two TDs in total.

Paso Robles didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Pioneer Valley to a completion percentage of just 33.3%. The Bearcats weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 100%.

Paso Robles didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Mekdes Siegrist led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

Paso Robles is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2-1 record this season. As for Lompoc, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.
