Pateros' loss ends six-game winning streak on the road

Recap: Pateros Billygoats/Nannies vs. Curlew Cougars

After flying high against Cascade Christian Academy last Tuesday, the Pateros Billygoats/Nannies came back down to earth. Pateros took a 42-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Curlew. Pateros was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Curlew apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Curlew was led to victory by Emma Lena Baker and Annika Baker. Baker dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds, while Baker dropped a double-double on 16 points and 19 rebounds. Baker is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Theia Grady, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Pateros' defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4. As for Curlew, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Pateros on the road again on Tuesday and play against Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Curlew, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Selkirk at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th. Selkirk will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 291st, while Curlew is ranked 86th).
