Dewey won the last time they faced Blackwell and things went their way on Friday too. Dewey put the hurt on Blackwell with a sharp 11-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldoggers, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Jay Murguia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Dewey has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Blackwell and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
Dewey has already played their next game, an 18-3 loss against Norman on the 21st. As for Blackwell, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Newkirk at 5:00 p.m.
