Baseball Recap: Aptos Takes a Loss

Aptos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Santa Cruz Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, with their most recent loss being a 9-2 defeat on Tuesday.

Aptos saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Damien Espinoza, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Aptos' loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Santa Cruz, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-11.

Coming up, Aptos will venture away from home to challenge Palma at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mariners' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chieftains have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. Santa Cruz does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
