Flag Football Game Preview: Lathrop Spartans vs. Livingston Wolves + Official Tickets

The Lathrop Spartans will challenge the Livingston Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lathrop will be strutting in after a victory while Livingston will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, Lathrop beat Johansen 30-18. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won four in a row.

JaLeiyah Ray had another great game (as she tends to do), rushing for 114 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries, while also picking up 42 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 114 rushing yards gave her a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lathrop was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 76.1 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five contests they've averaged 189.7.

Lathrop didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dayanna Martinez and Ray. Martinez is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as she's now made five or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Meanwhile, Livingston was just a hair shy of victory on Monday and fell 7-6 to Central Valley.

Lathrop's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Livingston, they dropped their record down to 9-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Lathrop barely slipped by Livingston in their previous meeting back in September, winning 14-13. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
