Santa Clara had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Thursday. They put the hurt on the MacDonald Condor with a sharp 15-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Dominick Chavarria and Zach Gallegos did most of the damage at the plate: Chavarria went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Gallegos went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Gallegos has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Rahbar, who earned two RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Santa Clara's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for MacDonald, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Santa Clara will face off against rival Fremont at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bruins 3.7, the Firebirds 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, MacDonald is set to challenge their familiar foe Cupertino at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
