Softball Recap: Beckman Snags 12th Victory in Last 16 Games

Beckman hadn't done well against San Clemente recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Patriots never let the Tritons get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Tritons on April 3rd, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

The result came thanks to Kiyomi Okamoto's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Beckman's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Kim, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Beckman is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for San Clemente, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-7-1.

Looking ahead, Beckman will square off against El Toro at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for San Clemente, they will take on Trabuco Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tritons are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
