Baseball Recap: Blue Ridge Gets the Win

Blue Ridge won against Travelers Rest on Tuesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Tigers walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Devildogs. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Devildogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Blue Ridge got a great performance from Roper Pittman as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Pittman has posted since back in April of 2025.

On the hitting side, Houston Lancaster and Holden Powell did most of the damage at the plate: Lancaster went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Powell went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those three hits gave Powell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was JT Center, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Blue Ridge's record now sits at 11-5. As for Travelers Rest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
