Baseball Game Preview: Edison Chargers vs. Huntington Beach Oilers

For the second straight game, Edison will face off against Huntington Beach. The Chargers will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Oilers at 3:15 p.m.

Things were looking good for Edison after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Huntington Beach, falling 18-1. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Huntington Beach's part, Otto Espinoza looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Espinoza has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Huntington Beach let Jayton Greer and Trevor Goldenetz run wild. Greer went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Goldenetz went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most doubles Greer has posted since back in March. Trent Grindlinger was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Huntington Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Edison's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Huntington Beach, their win bumped their record up to 20-4.
