Football Game Preview: Johnsburg Skyhawks vs. Plano Reapers

The Johnsburg Skyhawks will take on the Plano Reapers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Johnsburg will be strutting in after a victory while Plano will be coming in after a loss.

Johnsburg's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 28-0 win over Marengo. The Skyhawks pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Indians had little chance of recovering from.

Johnsburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Duke Mays, who rushed for 75 yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards Mays has posted since back in October of 2024. Another pass catcher making a difference was Ryan Franze, who picked up 103 receiving yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Plano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 20-14 heartbreaker at the hands of Woodstock.

Although Plano took the loss, they still got scores from Kolten Schimandle and Isaac Uhrich.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere two yards per carry. The team can thank Jacob Benitez for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Plano; they were averaging 3.7yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three matchups they've fallen to only 1.6 per game.

Plano's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Johnsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
