Recap: Argonaut Mustangs vs. Fortune Early College Panthers
The Argonaut Mustangs lost against the Fortune Early College Panthers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Argonaut's tough 74-53 defeat to Fortune Early College might stick with them for a while. Argonaut has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Argonaut lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mitchell Mcmahan, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Mcmahan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Duran, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Fortune Early College got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Corey Lark out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Lark is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. Jabari Pugh was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Argonaut now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Fortune Early College, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-9.
Argonaut will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Woodland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd. Woodland Christian will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Fortune Early College will take on Kennedy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Kennedy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fortune Early College in California (Kennedy is ranked 255th, while Fortune Early College is ranked 546th).
