Basketball Recap: Arcadia Piles Up the Points Against South Gate

Arcadia had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 42-point drubbing they dealt South Gate on Monday. The Arcadia Apaches blew past the South Gate Rams 82-40. Given the Apaches' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Rams are ranked 1218th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arcadia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noa Eteuati-Edwards, who went 5 of 10 en route to 13 points in addition to eight assists and five boards. That's the most assists Eteuati-Edwards has posted since back in February of 2024. Nick Wallace Jr was another key player, putting up 14 points.

The win was the fourth in a row for Arcadia, bringing their record for this year to 13-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for South Gate, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Arcadia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 82-45 victory against Hoover on the 21st. South Gate has also already played their next contest, a 61-57 defeat against Legacy on the 22nd.
